How we handle your gift.
Clear answers on refunds, designations, tickets and donated items. Last updated October 2026.
Refunds
If you made a mistake with a gift, such as the wrong amount or a duplicate, contact us within 30 days and we'll refund it to the original card. After that, or once a gift has been receipted for a past tax year, refunds are at our discretion.
Monthly giving
Change, pause or cancel any time at sawyerswish.org/account. If a monthly gift was charged after you meant to cancel, tell us within 30 days and we'll refund it.
Event tickets
If you can't attend, contact us before the event. We'll refund your ticket or, if you'd rather, turn it into a tax-deductible gift. If we cancel or postpone an event, we'll offer a full refund. Raffle, 50/50 and squares purchases can't be refunded once the drawing has happened.
Designated gifts
Gifts to a campaign, fundraiser, hospital sponsorship or event go to that effort. If an effort is fully funded or can't go ahead, we use the gift for the closest related part of our mission: getting new sheet sets and notes to children in the hospital.
Gifts we can accept
- Money by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, check, donor-advised fund grants and employee giving platforms
- New, still-packaged sheet sets (twin, toddler and crib) and new comfort items. Tell us what you have
- Services such as shipping, printing, design and packaging
Hospitals can't accept used items, so we can't either. We may decline a gift that doesn't fit our mission or comes with conditions we can't meet.
Receipts
Every money gift gets an email receipt with our EIN. For donated items we send a letter describing what arrived. You set its value for your taxes, as the IRS requires.
Matching gifts
Many employers match gifts. Submit your receipt through your company's giving program (Benevity, YourCause and others). We confirm matches quickly.
